KRISTIAN KRISTIAN KRISTIAN STEEL. Amazing experience, for a huge, scary financial commitment. I didnt have to pay anything upfront or pay anything throughout the entire process. I got back 5k cash from current Home and 1k from Tesla, no strings attached. The first time he came to my home, my eldest daughter was in bed sick & Kristian brought us together in a circle and prayed out loud for her! He is honest & kind. I was so skeptical and had so many questions (our first sit down was about 6hrs) , I truly thought solar was a scam. Kristian proved us wrong. We have 2EV’s and 4 kids we generate a lot of power. We are cutting our cost by over 60% of what Edison was charging. If you’re going to do this with current home, use Kristian, tell him I sent you!

Is Current Home Solar the Best Solar Company in San Bernardino County?
There is no single “best” solar installer for every home. The right fit depends on your roof, your SCE rate plan, your budget, and how each installer’s warranties and financing compare. Current Home Solar has installed systems for California homeowners for 19+ years and offers a free, no-obligation assessment so you can compare us directly against other quotes before deciding.
When comparing installers, homeowners often look at the best solar companies, but it also helps to discuss whether the system is affordable, how much money it may save, when it could pay for itself, and whether the upfront cost feels expensive for the scope of the project before you hire anyone; it’s also worth asking for references from projects completed at least a year ago, checking that the contractor licenses are verified through the California State License Board, and asking whether their crews hold NABCEP certification, a recognized industry training standard, since installer knowledge matters.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does solar cost in San Bernardino County?
Cost depends on your home’s energy use, roof, and system size. We provide a free, no-obligation quote so you know the real number for your address before committing to anything. Average price varies widely based on system size and roof complexity, and we lay out financing options and monthly payment estimates alongside the upfront price so you can compare the real cost of ownership, not just the sticker price.
How does NEM 3.0 affect my solar savings in San Bernardino County?
NEM 3.0 lowered the credit homeowners receive for excess power sent back to the grid compared to the older NEM 2.0 program. Most new systems now include battery storage so you use more of your own solar power directly instead of exporting it at the lower rate.
What solar incentives are available in San Bernardino County?
The federal residential solar tax credit (Section 25D) ended on December 31, 2025, so homeowners who buy their system can no longer claim it. California still excludes qualifying solar from property tax reassessment for systems completed before January 1, 2027. If you lease or sign a PPA, the system owner may still qualify for a separate federal credit, which can lower your rate. We’ll walk you through what applies to your home. Some California utilities and municipalities also offer local rebates or demand-response incentives from time to time, so ask us to check current offers for your specific address when you request a quote.
Will solar panels increase my property taxes in California?
No. California excludes qualifying solar energy systems from property tax reassessment under current law, so your added home value from solar is not taxed the way other home improvements are.
How long does solar installation take in San Bernardino County?
Timelines vary by home and permitting jurisdiction. After your in-home consultation, our team handles design, permitting, and SCE interconnection, then schedules installation and a final inspection before your system is activated.
Is my roof a good fit for solar in San Bernardino County?
Most roof types can support solar, but orientation, shading, and roof condition affect system size and output. Our free roof assessment looks at your specific home before we design a system, rather than assuming a one-size-fits-all layout. If your roof already shows roof damage such as leaks, sagging, or aging shingles, we recommend addressing that before or during your solar install so it isn’t hidden under new panels.
Should I get multiple quotes before choosing a solar installer?
It’s reasonable to compare a few quotes and verify any installer’s CA license, local experience, and familiarity with SCE’s interconnection process and NEM 3.0 rules before you sign anything. California consumer guidance recommends getting at least three quotes, and confirming the installer holds a valid C-10 Electrical or C-46 Solar Contractor license. Ask each contractor for separate warranties on equipment, workmanship, and power production before you sign a contract, since quality and coverage vary company to company; most solar panels last 25 to 30 years and commonly include a 25-year warranty. A comprehensive warranty often includes 1–10 years of workmanship coverage and 25 years of performance coverage. Current Home Solar has installed systems for California homeowners for 19+ years and can walk you through our license and process on request.
Does Current Home Solar also handle roofing?
Yes. A solar system is generally expected to last 25 to 30 years, so it needs a roof that will last as long as the panels. Many San Bernardino County customers need roof work before installation, and Current Home Solar offers roofing services so your roof is ready to support solar panels for the long term.
